Sidney Bender is a Research Scientist at the IDA group of the TU Berlin and doing his PhD there. He is financed by BASLEARN, a collaboration between BASF and the Machine Learning group at TU Berlin trying to use state of the art machine learning to solve BASFs practical problems. His Bachelor and Master he did at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology finishing in 2021. His current research focus is using deep generative models to create counterfactual explanations and using these explanations to robustify these against reliance on spurious correlations and other sources of errors.
